Overview
Entry Level Art and Design (Level 1 Award)
Gateway Skills for Art and Design at Entry Level is ideal for students who are new to Art and Design who want to explore the skills and specialisms involved and for students who need extra time and support with learning. The course structure means you will be attending full time for four days a week focussing on passing the Gateway Entry Level Art and Design course. You will develop employability skills to prepare you for the world of work and working with others.
You will also complete a Functional Skills qualification in Maths and English to improve your core skills at the right level.
Course Content
This course is focused on building your core study skills and being ready for learning and future progression whilst also offering a taster of many different styles and technical aspects of visual art. This will help you to build your toolbox of knowledge for Level 1 as you continue to build on these skills.
Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. We want to help you achieve your full potential, so we always like to see examples of work you are proud of that you completed at a previous school.
Careers
On completion of this course you may want to progress onto the BTEC Level 1 qualification in Art & Design.
Alternatively, you may want to gain experience in other vocational areas such as Catering, IT, Construction or Hair and Beauty at Level 1.
