New for September 2019
Level 2 Photography
Whether it's to hone your skills for social media, or try your hand at professional photography, this course is sure to be perfect!
Students on this course will have the 'best of both worlds', accessing teaching from both our Art & Design and Media teams, with the opportunity to work in our Photography Suite and Darkroom!
Completion of this course also includes the prospect of moving onto various Level 3 courses the following year.
We're pleased to announce the official launch of our brand new, fully-functional fitness suite.
Whether you're looking to tone up or de-stress after a hard day of college, the use of our gym is completely free for staff and students!
With the hopes of improving attitudes to physical activity, we're also looking to open the gym to the local community in the near future.
Keep a look out for other new and exciting changes happening to SHC.
Our GCSE Maths class secured some fantastic results in the November re-sits. 83% of the students obtained a grade 4 or above, exceeding the national becnhmark, which currently stands at 26%.
Governors are delighted with these figures and it is hoped that similar results can be recreated in the summer examinations. The Maths & English team are exceptionally pleased with this result, and are thankful to all teaching staff who allowed students out of their lessons to attend revison sessions, and encouraged them to do well.
This model of revision and preparation has proven to be invaluable in ensuring students perform well and will be used across the college for the coming examinations.
