Overview
BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Vocational studies
This course offers students an introduction to IT, however the main focus is on practical skills and tasks that place an emphasis on demonstrating what the students can do rather than what they know in theory. The qualifications give learners the opportunity to acquire and develop generic, transferable skills in order to complete tasks and demonstrate a level of achievement that enables them to progress to further learning. The course is particularly useful for those who may wish to progress onto the Level 2 BTEC.
Attention to detail is a must for those wishing to progress and students will be provided with feedback and support in order to achieve high levels of quality work. The course is very much based around the individuals' journey of learning and progression with time allowed for reflection and improvement of work.

Units Covered:
5 units will be studied altogether in a diploma:
- Two are core units, Being Organised and Progression Plan
Remaining three units will vary from year to year but may be:- - Developing a storyboard
- Developing a presentation

- Exploring Travel and Tourism
- Creating a website
- Using Digital communication technologies
- Branding a product
- Growing Plants
Entry Requirements
Students should have a range of GCSEs at grade 1/2, including Maths and English.
