Overview

A-Level Photography

Photography is an A-Level course for students with an interest in lens based media.

Your success on the course will require real interest in Photography and Photographers and a good measure of self - motivation. The overall transferable skill gained by this course is creative problem solving, this skill features in many creative industries.

Following this course you can do a Degree in Photography or a combination Degree with another subject. Photography can lead to jobs in a number of industries (because of the transferable skill: creative problem solving) including advertising, graphics and commercial studio photography, film, animation, illustration, aspects of the media (including journalism, magazine editing, lighting directors, broadcasting etc.)

In previous years students have gained places on reputable BA and Foundation courses on the strength of their qualifications and portfolio

Entry Requirements

You will be expected to have the minimum requirements:
5 GCSEs grade 9 - 5 - including Art and English at Grade 5 or above or a portfolio of work that evidences your suitability (be sure to bring this with you during your interview if possible).
