BTEC Level 2 Sport
The BTEC Level 2 Sport course has been designed specifically to give you a range of skills and techniques essential for working in the sport and leisure sector and for progression to related Level 3 courses.
Learners will study towards a BTEC Certificate in Sport, and have the potential to progress to Level 3 Sports with attainment of a minimum of a merit overall, and sufficient improvement and achievement in English and maths as well as excellent behaviour, punctuation and attendance to all parts of your study programme!

Course Content
Topics Covered
Your study programme will include English, maths, PSHE and tutorial sessions as well as the vocational sport lessons.
The sport lessons involve a mix of demanding practical tasks and written work that will give you a good foundation on career opportunities and the preparation needed for the work place and / or progression to Level 3 Sport courses here at the college. You will complete a range of assessments for each unit including internal and external testing, practical assessments, presentations and course work.

- Running a sports event
- Practical Sports Performance
- Anatomy and physiology for sports performance
- The mind and sports performance
Practicals
You will take part in a range of team and individual sports throughout the academic year.
Exams
There will be externally assessed examinations.
